On November 16, 2012, Smithfield Romania continued the tree planting campaign under the aegis of the national volunteering planting movement “Millions of People, Millions of Trees”, initiated by PPAIS Corporate Communications Foundation. Smithfield volunteers along with extremely dedicated gymnasium pupils of „Mihai Viteazu” High School from Ineu, Arad County, volunteers from central government institutions with activities in the field, and teachers have created a greenbelt near Mocrea Farm in Arad County, belonging to Smithfield, by planting various species of trees: lime, poplar, acacia, and plane trees. So far, Smithfield Romania has planted over 21,000 trees as part of the 7th edition of the national planting movement.
