Dole Launches its First Marketing Push in Romania Standing out as the Leader of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables

Bucharest, April 8, 2010 – Dole, the world’s largest producer and marketer of top-quality fresh fruit and fresh vegetables, has launched its very first marketing and advertising campaign in Romania, as part of a global marketing push designed to expand its brand’s awareness. The campaign runs on TV across the country from April 12th, using the baseline "Every banana wants to be Dole".

Dole is the first and the only international fruit company to operate directly in Romania. Its products have been available in Romania since the opening of the market in the early 90’s. In 2009, the Company decided to operate in Romania directly in order to meet customer’s expectations and established its business in the country, taking over its former distributor’s 25% market share.
